Prof. Cristiano Ciuti, head of the MPQ laboratory, has been awarded the prestigious Friedel-Volterra Prize from the French and Italian Physical Societies (SFP and SIF), “for his outstanding contributions to light-matter interactions and cavity quantum electrodynamics in the ultrastrong coupling regime.”

The formal Friedel-Volterra Prize award ceremony will take place on September 14, 2020 in Milan, Italy, during the opening ceremony of the 106th SIF National Congress.
