Spectroscopy of quasi-particles (SQUAP)

The Raman group is interested in the dynamics of interacting electrons in low-dimensional systems. Reducing the dimensionality often results in various competing orders of electron matter: superconductivity, charge density and spin density wave, quantum magnetism, 2D crystals and quantum Hall liquids. Recently we have been studying the physics of high-temperature superconductivity in the cuprates and the iron pnictides, the search for analogous of Higgs boson in superconductors, the physics of multiferroic materials and graphene as well as the study of still mysterious electronic orderings .
