The project, entitled TUPHO (TUning of PHOtonic resonators) aims to improve the reproducibility of micro and nanophotonic devices, which remains an important technological barrier. To this end, the project explores a new technique that allows to reduce the errors at the end of the fabrication process, in a permanent way and at low cost. The objective is to tune the photonic resonators with an accuracy of 0.01%, or even to make them indistinguishable when necessary. This is made possible by a process recently discovered and patented in the laboratory. More details can be found on the INP website.
